Michaela Suess

Michaela’s appreciation for architecture and design began during her early career in Germany, where she worked as a bilingual executive assistant alongside architects at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Heidelberg. Her next career was in corporate customer relationship management as a liaison/translator for a prestigious group of American clients. Traveling to the US for meetings with group members at their companies was a valuable experience.

After relocating to the US with her husband Dieter in 2004, Michaela did what she enjoyed most: remodeling houses and managing some as vacation rentals. In 2017, they found The Sea Ranch and instantly fell in love with this unique community on the rugged California coast founded on respect for the land and for architecture that fits naturally in this breathtakingly beautiful place. They bought and renovated two homes, purchased a lot and began the planning process with the Design Committee, which provided additional experience in TSR policies. Michaela joined the Sea Ranch Vision Committee for several years and she is a member of the Posh Squash community garden. She also volunteered at the Gualala Arts Dolphin Galerie and local charity events.

Inspired by mentor Hanne Liisberg, Michaela became a realtor in 2021, drawing on her extensive experience building meaningful relationships with customers by understanding their needs. Connecting with people, sharing the experience of living in this exceptional community and helping them through the emotional process of buying or selling homes continues to be incredibly rewarding. Michaela likes to introduce new owners to fun groups and events with neighbors and friends, and she is always happy to meet them on the trails or at events and hear how much they enjoy living here.
